Hello Readers,
99:9 here with another newsletter. Here’s the new content I uploaded this week:
The Christian life is a hard life. We are called to Serve, and give of ourselves. Naturally, this takes a lot out of us (duh!). This means a few things. First, we need to be sure to take care of ourselves and love ourselves with proper rest and relaxation. How can we love and care for others if we don’t care for ourselves first?? Besides that, we also need healthy boundaries in our life, and to be able to say “no” when we need to.
The Christian Book Corner #9: The Dark Night of the Soul
No, I’m not talking about the classic work of medieval Christian theology called Dark Night of the Soul by John of the Cross. The book for The Christian Book Corner #9 is The Dark Night of the Soul by Gerald May. To add to the confusion, May’s book is an overview of the concept of John of the Cross’ Dark Night of the Soul, as well as the writings of Teresa of Avila. That’s where the confusion ends though, because Gerald May’s The Dark Night of the Soul is an excellent overview of these important medieval Christian writers. Check out Book Corner #9 to learn more.
Do Not Fear the End Times Part 95: Devilish Double Traps
Satan is always looking to get his hooks in us, any way he can. But once he hooks us with one temptation, he hits us with the next. And the next, and the next, and the next. He keeps going, keeps introducing more and more sins in our life until we’re stuck in a cesspit of immorality, unable to get out. So be on the alert!! Check out End Times Part 95 to learn more about the vicious ways the devil works.
Well that’s all for the week. I hope this gives you something good to read on your Sunday. Enjoy the week. I’ll be back next week with the next newsletter!
